Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on 28 October 1967 at Atlanta. She belongs to the fourth generation of Robertses to live in the Atlanta area, starting in the family of her grand-father John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in theater from a young time. In 1952, while a student of Emory University, he performed in a variety of productions in Atlanta. He joined the Air Force. While stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a show that he performed in with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, they got married and their child Eric Anthony was born. Walter was studying at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957 they quit the Air Force and Walter began his studies at Tulane. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. The family moved in 1960 and relocated into Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show for kids known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. This was a project they self-financed. In the following year, they established the Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for six years. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
