The song made it to the top 19 in both Billboard Hot 100 in Canada as well as the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the song one of the Top Songs in 2015. It was the same time that she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful One of her five original songs included in the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 in Canada, and Billboard 200 for Canadian Albums Charts. It was different because many people related to the interview she did with Rap-Up about her struggle in learning to love and accept her. Cara's music often contains positive message about mental health, and the importance of loving oneself. Her music is an expression of her personal struggle with insomnia and mental health. Reuters reported that she called the album "half chaotic, but half done". She describes her growth by therapy and is adamant about encouraging anyone else to seek out help when they need it. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996 to parents of Italian heritage. The guitar was gifted to her from her parents at the time she was 10, which ignited her musical passion. When she was 13, she started covering songs she adored on YouTube to demonstrate to the public that she was talented and was able to make a profession of an artist. Sweater Weather is one of the covers that resulted in her being discovered at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create the songs she wrote herself.
